Born and raised in Alabama, Zayne Maddox has enjoyed a career as a performer, composer, private instructor, producer, engineer, and perpetual learner. He has played with many groups including: The Black Sparrow Band, Big Bling and the Funk Machine, The Blue Root Jazz Combo, and many of the various ensembles at Troy University.

As of 2025, Zayne has graduated from his alma mater and moved to Nashville, Tennessee where he is currently performing with HEAD./FIRST.

HEAD./FIRST was founded in 2026 and consists of Myles J. Thomas, Gerred Twymon, Joey B., and Zayne Maddox. The band plays various genres of music and is soon to release new music.
